The 2023 season ushered in a new era of Cardinals football and the year did not go well at all.
It wasn’t always pretty, but the Arizona Cardinals fought hard through a 2023 season that offered little to what they may have to look forward to in 2024 and beyond.
The team is now making some moves by shedding themselves of several employees.
Kyle Odegard of Betting Odds reported that chief financial officer Greg Lee and a number of other high-level employees were fired by the team.
“Longtime CFO Greg Lee was one of three high-level employees given the ax by the Cardinals. The others were the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and the Vice President of Digital Content & Creative.
Several lower-level employees also lost their jobs in the shakeup. The total number of employees laid off was in the double digits, per sources.”
Odegard explained that these moves came as a result of newly hired Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Walls.

“Many within the organization believe the changes have come at the behest of new Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Walls, who was hired in August to oversee the business operations,” he said.”
“Walls made it a point to drastically boost the ticket sales staff prior to these layoffs, while also making staff cuts in other areas, sources said.”
The Arizona Cardinals saw their second draft pick in the first round devalued again thanks to the Houston Texans.
Houston took care of business at home during the wild card round on Saturday, taking down the Cleveland Browns, 45-14.
Arizona owns Houston’s first-, third- and fifth-round picks in the 2024 draft via two trades and now their initial first-rounder will now be no better than No. 25 overall. It can keep dropping if the Texans continue to win.
Arizona handed the No. 3 pick to Houston to take edge rusher Will Anderson Jr., while the Cardinals added the Nos. 12 and 33 picks along with a third-rounder.
Arizona was betting on the Texans being a bad team again, but CJ Stroud had other plans as he became the youngest quarterback to win a playoff game.
