The Arizona Cardinals have surely fielded trade calls from other teams interested in the 2023 NFL Draft’s third overall pick and that was confirmed on Monday.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, at least six teams around the league have inquired with the Arizona Cardinals about trading up for the No. 3 pick. Schefter adds the Cardinals and new GM Monti Ossenfort are still deciding whether they want to use the pick or trade it.
The names of those teams have not been disclosed.
Arizona is sitting at prime position where they should be hearing from a team like the Colts, who are picking at No. 4 and are likely to take the third quarterback off the board after the Panthers and Texans make their picks.
Another team that could be calling is from the same division in the Tennessee Titans, who last week were reported as having explored the possibility of trading up from No. 11 to No. 3. They’re doing a lot of homework on this quarterback class. If another team wants to trade up for a quarterback, past precedent suggests they’d be willing to give up a huge haul of picks, which for a team like the Cardinals could not pass up since they are rebuilding.
The Cardinals on the other hand could very well hold on to their pick and land the projected No. 1 prospect in the draft in Alabama pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound linebacker is coming off a senior season where he racked up 10 sacks and 17 tackles for loss to go along with one interception returned for a touchdown and a pass defensed.

There are still more than two weeks to go until the draft, so Arizona has plenty of time to make its decision.
