A part-time starter in his first season with the Cardinals, Antonio Hamilton was on track to be a full-time player in Arizona’s secondary this season. Now, he’ll have to wait a few games before hitting the field in 2022.
The Cardinals placed the veteran cornerback on their reserve/non-football injury list Thursday because of a cooking accident at his home, according to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL.com.
Arizona sports radio host John Gambadoro says Hamilton had to go to the hospital after burning himself in the kitchen.
“He was cooking in the kitchen and spilled hot oil on himself,” Gambadoro wrote. “Was severe enough (both feet and an arm) he had to go to the hospital.”

Kliff Kingsbury said Hamilton had the best camp of any Cards defender. This is just an unfortunate incident for him.
In 17 games (two starts) with Arizona last year, Hamilton registered 38 tackles, four passes defensed, and a fumble recovery.
