On Tuesday, former Ohio State star Cardale Jones was among eight quarterbacks assigned to XFL teams in advance of the league’s inaugural draft. Jones, who spent the past three seasons as an NFL backup, will play for the D.C. Defenders.
It should’ve been an awesome moment for him, but he found himself in a debate about being out of the league because he chose to stay in school with another former NFL player.
Antonio Bryant would take to Twitter and state how Cardale would’ve been a top-10 pick in 2015 if he had left Ohio State, but opted to stay in school and fell to the 4th round because of that decision.
He criticized him and any other D-1 athletes to not make a decision like that.
Cardals saw that tweet and fired back at him over a decision he made to benefit him long term.

Jones spent one season as a reserve for the Buffalo Bills and two with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2016 to 2018.
