Antonio Brown is back in the news for something outlandish that he’s somehow managed to make seem normal. Still, fans are showing concern.
An investigative report from Anthony Olivieri and Michael A. Fletcher of ESPN claims the former star wide receiver threatened his Albany Empire National Arena League players with a gun during an argument over the removal of a social media post dedicated to a former teammate who had died.
The players were asked to post a tribute to former Empire offensive lineman Mo Ruffins, who passed away at the age of 38 last year. The post went up but was later deleted, and players wanted to know the reason behind its disappearance.
They are reported to have approached Brown for answers while at a cigar lounge in Albany after questions put to the front office couldn’t draw a reasonable explanation out.
Brown was said to have made a remark during the confrontation that left everyone worried.
Per wide receiver Darius Prince, the former Steelers and Bucs star asked assistant Ryan Larkin to go to a car and retrieve a rifle.

“AB looked at Ryan [Larkin] and was like, ‘Hey, man, you still got the AR in the car? Go get it,’” Prince told ESPN. “Then I was like, I’m not going to allow this dude to walk out of here after you just threatened us… After he said that, things did calm down, and we had a conversation. But the fact is that he threatened us by telling his assistant to grab his AR.”
Fans now think AB is really in need of help.
AB is no longer involved with the team, which has since been dismissed from the Arena League. He recently found himself in the news for failing to pay child support.
