Le’Veon Bell will have to put a hold on his attempts to step in the boxing ring with Jake Paul after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came calling and needed his services after their rash of injuries.
The three-time Pro Bowler will be reunited with former Pittsburgh Steelers wide reciver Antonio Brown after lead running back Leonard Fournette suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints that will likely cause him to miss the rest of the season.
After three years apart, the two veterans are reuniting and at least one of them is really happy about it.
The Buccaneers wide receiver took to Twitter on Wednesday to give his reaction to Bell’s signing.
The 29-year-old RB admitted that he was likely headed to retirement after the Baltimore Ravens released him. Then, things changed when the Bucs came calling.
“This was like literally the only spot that I felt like made me want to play football and go out there and be excited to play,” Bell said in a press conference Wednesday. “This was like literally the only place that could have called me and got me to really go play. I was gonna start boxing and focusing on boxing.”
