When it comes to ownership in professional sports, perhaps no reign was more disastrous than Antonio Brown’s time as owner of the National Arena League’s Albany Emprie.
In less than a full season the former NFL receiver managed to get half his team to quit, including the reigning league MVP. He was also accused of failing to pay his players and locking some of them out of their hotel rooms. And finally, when it became too much, his team was given the boot by the Arena League, putting an end to all of the shenanigans…
Or so we thought.
Despite not being a part of the National Arena League any longer, Antonio Brown is still giving his opinions on it.
After it was reported that another team, the Fayetteville Mustangs, would also be dropped from the NAL, Brown tweeted two simple words in response: “Corrupt League.”

The Mustangs are said to have been dumped by the NAL because of “funding issues.” Coincidentally, their last game was against Brown’s Albany Empire.
With the loss of the Empire and Mustangs, the league is now down to just five teams, making it hard to believe that they’ll be able to survive past the 2023 season.
Who knows? Maybe they’ll end up being desperate enough to give AB another chance.
