Antonio Brown is now working with ESPN, according to the former NFL wide receiver himself.
On his Twitter page, the former Pro Bowler tweeted that he’s excited about his new partnership with the Worldwide Leader in Sports. ESPN has not commented on the matter.
ESPN has undergone massive changes over the past 24 hours. They laid off 27-year veteran Suzy Kolber and other notable on-air talents like Jeff Van Gundy, Keyshawn Johnson, Max Kellerman, Todd McShay, Matt Hasselbeck, Jalen Rose and Steve Young.
The network received massive backlash for giving Pat McAfee a five-year deal worth $85 million before releasing all of these big-named talents as part of budget cuts. Disney CEO Bob Iger warned earlier in February that the company would be cutting 7,000 jobs as a way to save billions of dollars.
So if ESPN were to actually hire Brown (and nothing has been confirmed), they can expect a lot more backlash. He is one of the most controversial athletes ever, with several well-documented incidents and legal troubles off the field.
Brown last played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, having re-signed on a one-year deal after winning a Super Bowl 55 championship with the organization. In a memorable incident, he took off his equipment and ran off the field in the Bucs-New York Jets Week 17 game following a disagreement with head coach Bruce Arians.

Brown was subsequently released by the Bucs and hasn’t been in the NFL ever since.
