Friday was quite the rollercoaster for the Oakland Raiders as wide receiver Antonio Brown showed just how disgruntled he already is with his new franchise, all because he is not permitted to wear the type of helmet he likes.
The Raiders wideout can very well walk away from the game right now if he’d like, but there are heavy contract obligations that could easily change his mind once he realizes how much money he will lose.
According to The Big Lead, Brown is in line to lose out on the entire $30 million guarantee on his contract if he never plays for Oakland.
If the Raiders choose to, they can actually force Brown’s hand by using a “five-day letter,” compelling Brown to return to the team within five days or face the consequences.
That would come with shutting him down for the entire 2019 season and avoiding having to pay him the $14.5 million he’d be owed.
This is not what the Raiders were hoping for when they traded for him this offseason.
