Antonio Brown had a huge announcement to make this week. He alluded to it on Twitter.
Antonio Brown, who hasn’t played in the NFL since Jan. 2, 2022, when he pulled off his jersey and left the field before the end of Tampa Bay’s game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, is joining an ownership group that is purchasing a fotball team.
“The 7x Pro Bowl wideout is getting involved with the Albany Empire (previously the Firebirds) of the National Arena League the same team his father who is considered the greatest Arena Football league player of all time, Eddie Brown played for.”
Brown will not be suiting up for the team. He will take an off-the-field role with the Albany Empire, according to CBS 6 Albany.
“I grew up here as a little kid, you know, watching my dad be successful,” Antonio Brown said.
“Everything right now is surreal,” Eddie explained. He will take on the role of vice president of football operations for the team.
“I’m happy to be home,” he said.
