Antonio Brown and his bad behavior have changed everything for the Albany Empire.
The team that was coming off back-to-back championships won’t be competing for another anytime soon and it has nothing to do with how bad the team has been playing since he took over.
On Thursday, it was reported that the Albany Empire lost its membership in the National Arena League over unpaid dues and are being kicked out.
Via CBS Albany:
“The NAL says in a release that an emergency conference call was held to discuss the team’s failure to pay league-mandated dues.
Teams in the NAL must pay for one-seventh of the league’s operating budget each month.
The Empire’s payments were overdue. Majority-owner Antonio Brown was fined $1,000 for public comments disparaging the league, a fine he has refused to pay, according to the NAL statement. Brown did pay the Empire’s April dues, but did not do so in May.
The league was later notified last week that the April payment was being challenged; it was later credited back to Brown.

The two-time champion Empire had a noon deadline Thursday to make their payment and that did not happen.
On the field, the Empire has lost six straight games, having played seven games under Brown. The rest of the season schedule will now be adjusted with this news.
Brown has only had one victory during his ownership but has dealt with constant drama since he took over as part-owner back in March.
