An anti-abortion climber left onlookers in amazement when he scaled to the top of a 40-story building in downtown Phoenix on Tuesday.
The climber, a daredevil known as the “Pro-Life Spider-Man” whose real name is Maison DesChamps, started the climb up the Chase Tower around 9:00 AM with no ropes or any kind of safety equipment. It appears he finished nearly five hours later.
Wedging himself between a crevasse in the building, the anti-abortionist made his way to the top as folks who came to the city for Sunday’s Super Bowl assembled to watch
Amid the climb, DesChamps stopped to film himself and tell social media why he decided to attempt such a daring feat. He was promptly arrested by Phoenix lawmen once he made it to safety.
The city has since condemned the daredevil’s actions. “This is not the place or the time to do this,” an official said per 12 News. “This is extremely dangerous.”
This was not a first for DesChamps, who has completed similar stunts over the past year. He famously found himself atop the Salesforce Tower in downtown San Francisco in May 2022.
