Anthony Richardson has already seen some ups and downs as a rookie quarterback for the Colts, but the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft is now set to miss an extended period of time after his latest injury.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson left Sunday’s 23-16 win over the Tennessee Titans due to an injury to his throwing shoulder and was replaced by backup Gardner Minshew.
Minshew will now be starting the next few games as the Colts announced they have placed QB Anthony Richardson on injured reserve with his shoulder injury, officially sidelining him for the next four games at least.
Adam Schefter reports Richardson could miss up to eight games as well depending on how his rehab goes. He will not be having surgery but that possibility is not off the table.
Richardson was injured on a run in the second quarter when a hard tackle by Titans linebacker Harold Landry III drove his right shoulder into the turf.
Richardson, the No. 4 pick in April’s draft, has had an explosive start to his NFL career as a dynamic threat to create big plays but his latest injury was his third in just five games.
