There’s little doubt that Anthony Richardson is the most physically gifted quarterback going into Thursday’s NFL Draft. And that’s saying something, with Will Levis also set to be drafted on the night.
Richardson reset some standards during the combine as he broke certain records and came as close to some as anyone has been in several years. However, none of his attributes necessarily make for a great QB, which is why he isn’t the outright favorite to go No.1.
It’s unlikely that the former Florida signal-caller will fall out of the top 10, so he is likely to drop into a great situation. But there are concerns about his accuracy, among other things. Fortunately for Anthony, he’s aware of his weaknesses too and has sought the tutelage of one of the best private quarterback coaches in the country in Will Hewlett.
That is according to The Athletic’s Ted Nguyen, who is reporting that the QB has been working on accuracy, footwork, and decision-making with the coach ahead of the draft.
One of his sessions has produced a gem of a video in which Richardson can be seen making a 65-yard throw with both feet planted. You could check that out right below:
Well, he made that look easy.
