Corey Richardson, the 13-year-old brother of new Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, briefly took over the spotlight during Thursday’s NFL Draft broadcast.
The Colts used the No. 4 selection in the 2023 Draft on Anthony, a former star quarterback for the Florida Gators. Richardson was the third QB taken, behind Alabama’s Bryce Young (first overall to the Carolina Panthers) and Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud (second overall to the Houston Texans).
Anthony was joined by Corey and their mother, LaShawnda, at the draft on Thursday. The three were interviewed together after the Colts used the No. 4 pick on selection. Needless to say, social media couldn’t believe the sound of his Corey’s voice for a 13-year-old.
Here is how football fans reacted after hearing Corey’s voice.

Richardson has been widely regarded as a boom-or-bust prospect heading into this draft. Richardson’s incredible showing at the NFL Combine led to a major rise in his stock heading into draft weekend, however.
And ultimately, the QB-needy Colts decided they couldn’t pass up on Richardson’s all-world abilities and talents. Now, they wait and see if he can give this franchise the long-term answer at QB they’ve sorely lacked since Andrew Luck’s unexpected retirement in 2019.
It remains to be seen if the Colts will want to start Richardson right away, or if they’ll turn to veteran and free agent pickup Gardner Minshew II. Either way, Richardson’s arrival marks an exciting period for a franchise that has been mired in mediocrity over the past seven years.
