The San Francisco 49ers have added a new wide receiver to their roster.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Niners are signing Anthony Miller, which would make them his fourth team since he was drafted by the Chicago Bears out of the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
The WR has had an up-and-down career in the pros so far. He was traded by Chicago to the Houston Texans along with a 2022 seventh-round pick in exchange for a fifth-round pick for that year but did not last very long in Houston as he was released.
He joined the Pittsburgh Steelers thereafter, only to be released again.
Miller is now joining a Niners side looking to do at least one better after reaching the NFC Championship Game last season. He gives the team added depth in the receiving department and does present lots of potential, having made 140 catches for 1,589 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in his career.
Meanwhile, the 49ers are hoping to go into next season with their quarterback woes sorted given that both Trey Lance and Brock Purdy have struggled in the offseason, with the latter coming off an elbow operation.
