The salary cap, which was $198.2 million in 2020, is expected to fall significantly in 2021 due to reduced league revenues. A ton of players are going to find themselves without a job as one NFL GM told Matt Verderame of Fansided that the 2021 number is expected to come in between $180 million and $183 million.
In fact, one head coach predicted a “massacre” starting next week ahead of free agency.
“It’s going to be a massacre next week all around the league,” the anonymous head coach told Russini.
The massacre already started with the Miami Dolphins after they shockingly released veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who was just in his second year of a four-year, $51 million deal.
We can expect a number of veteran players to be cut soon.
