The Kansas City Chiefs won’t look the same next season after the team granted Tyreek Hill’s request to seek a trade after the two sides could not reach an agreement on a new contract. Soon, the dynamic WR would be sent off to the Miami Dolphins for a package of five draft picks.
Hill issued a statement thanking his family, teammates, and the Kansas City organization. He mentioned tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes by name along with wide receivers Demarcus Robinson and Gehrig Richard Dieter.
“I’m proud to have taken the field with each of you,” Hill wrote. “You are what made each day worth it. We are brothers for life!”
Kelce would respond to his message.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that this move will benefit the Chiefs, especially since they now have more cap room.
“I am happy for Tyreek, he has grown as a man and player here in Kansas City,” Reid said. “This move will also benefit the Chiefs, we now have cap space and additional draft picks to grow as a football team. I wish him well as he moves forward.’”

Kelce has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in each of their six seasons together. Hill scored 62 touchdowns in 91 career games. Words cannot explain how much of a huge blow this is to the Chiefs’ offense.
Kelce could see even more targets as Mahomes’ undisputed top option, but he will also be getting even more attention from the defense.
The Chiefs will now look towards the draft or free agency in terms of replacing Hill.
