As you saw on Sunday night, not a single member of the Chiefs or Eagles were on the sidelines to watch Rihanna’s halftime show.
For the Chiefs, there was a reason not one of them tried to go out and take in the festivities.
Patrick Mahomes told Jimmy Kimmel on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that his head coach informed all players that if they went out there to watch the show, they wouldn’t play the remainder of the game.
“Coach Reid told us, he said, ‘If you go out to watch the performance, just keep walking,'” Mahomes said, “‘because you’re not playing the rest of the game.'”
This might be a threat from all coaches for years to come after Bengals star kicker Evan McPherson was spotted watching Dr. Dre, Snoop and Eminem do their thing last season as everybody else was in the locker room.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl, so they got to party it up and celebrate anyway.
In that game, Mahomes was 20-of-26 for 182 yards and three touchdowns. He did all of that on a bum ankle. They’re still on cloud nine after Sunday night’s win and they’ll continue to stay there throughout the week as there’s going to be a parade soon to celebrate the win.
The focus will then shift to the 2023-24 season as the Chiefs try to go back-to-back.
