Could Andy Reid be ready to ride off into the sunset?
The Chiefs head coach is one of the longest-tenured in the NFL, and he’s looking to lead Kansas City to another Super Bowl in his 11th season with the team.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter discussed a few days ago the possibility of the Kansas City Chiefs perhaps pursuing Belichick if head coach Andy Reid decided to retire if he won another Super Bowl. Schefter threw cold water on the notion as he stated Reid is “not thinking about walking away.”
On Monday, he addressed it again on The Pat McAfee Show:
“There are people out there who have wondered about it – if the Chiefs were to win [the Super Bowl], could Andy Reid walk away?” Schefter said.
“The question has come up in the past and the question will come up again in the future. And only he gets to answer that.”

Reid was asked about his future before the 2024 NFL playoffs began:
“I haven’t even thought about that,” Reid said. “I’m thinking about one thing. I figured that would come up when you guys were asking these questions because I’m old — but not that old.”
Reid started as an assistant coach in the league in 1992 with the Green Bay Packers and won a Super Bowl as an assistant there. He has won two more with the Chiefs, including just last season.
He will be 66 years old when the 2024 NFL season begins. The Chiefs head coach is the oldest active head coach in the NFL.
