When Josh Allen hit Gabriel Davis for the go-ahead touchdown with 13 seconds remaining in today’s Divisional Round battle at Arrowhead, it looked like the Bills were going back to the AFC title game, and the Chiefs were headed home.
But then Patrick Mahomes took the field and worked his magic, hitting Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce on consecutive passes to get the Chiefs into field-goal range. And, as you probably know by now, Harrison Butker hit the kick, the Chiefs won the overtime toss, and Mahomes completed a masterful opening drive by hitting Kelce in the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.
It was a wild ending to one of the greatest games we have ever witnessed. And it’s left many of us wondering, “How did Mahomes do it?”
Did Andy Reid have some special words of advice for his star quarterback before that clutch 13-second, game-tying drive? the Chiefs head coach was asked that question during his post game press conference.
“When it’s grim, be the Grim Reaper.”
Strong words of advice from the head coach. Reid now has his team headed back to the AFC Championship Game for the fourth consecutive season. This time, they’ll be taking hosting Joe Burrow and the streaking Bengals.
