Andy Reid wishes he could have had this moment back when the team visited the White House this week.
The Kansas City Chiefs missed a White House visit after winning the Super Bowl in 2020. They made up for it on Monday.
The Chiefs were at the White House on Monday at the invitation of President Joe Biden to celebrate their Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles in February.
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce may have been the stars on this day, but the head coach made a bit of news himself.
While giving a speech, Reid accidentally referred to President Biden as President Obama, but he quickly realized his mistake.
“And what a great challenge it is to present ourselves this next year, like President Obama — or excuse me — ‘President Obama’ — doggone. Like President Biden said, nobody believed us before. Nobody believed us before. And I’m sure it’s going to be that same way this time, and we come out and prove them wrong,” Reid said.

Absent from the festivities was first lady Jill Biden on this ay as she was on an overseas trip with stops in Egypt, Morocco, and Portugal. She was likely happy to miss this day since she is a noted Eagles fan.
“I have to be careful what I say today,” Biden said while welcoming the Chiefs. … “I married a Philly girl. Fortunately, she is overseas right now. She’s a rabid Eagles fan.”
The Eagles have since gotten more firepower with their moves in the offseason as well as in the draft. They are expected to be a top team yet again in 2023.
The Eagles and Chiefs are both among the favorites to win the Super Bowl next season, meaning the first lady may have her shot yet at welcoming her favorite team to the White House.
