Football fans were all making the same observation after Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard dropped a certain comment involving former team quarterback Andrew Luck during a press conference on Wednesday.
Asked whether Jonathan Taylor’s absence could be bad for new rookie QB Anthony Richardson’s development, Ballard claimed Luck thrived despite not having a star running back around him in the offense.
“Look, when you don’t have a great player… but, I don’t think it stunts his growth. No, not at all,” he said. “I don’t know, did it stunt Andrew [Luck’s] growth without a special back?”
Given that Luck retired before turning 30, he was not the best example to bring up here. Sure, he did rise above adversity, yet his body took a beating because he did not have other top players around him.
Luck was incredible in a Colts uniform from 2012-2018 but hung it up at the age of 29 in 2019. He’s likely to have still been around had the Colts put a better team around him.
So, of course, fans were all saying the same thing:

As for Taylor, he’s set to remain with the team for now but will be unavailable for at least for games as he’s been kept on the PUP list.
