Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has teased that the team could line up in new uniforms next season.
St. Brown was playing Madden 23 on TNG Family Night when he declared that the team will be decked out in new threads, telling fans to “stay tuned” while selecting his jersey before beginning the game.
Barstool sports has shared a clip of the WR admitting that he liked the Lions’ all-white loadout before saying, “We need some new jerseys though, that’s coming soon, stay tuned.”
The last time Detroit changed its kit was in the spring of 2017. So any alterations are likely to happen around that period. While the possibility of new uniforms might not be taken seriously by many fans, perhaps it should.
Rumors of a change began swirling last year so there has been a bit of expectation as it pertains to the likelihood of novel threads dropping in 2023.
The Lions’ president, Rod Wood, addressed this during an owners’ meeting in Florida in early 2022. Though there were no immediate plans for a uniform change back then, Wood noted that the team was considering it for 2023.
