The Green Bay Packers have a huge game upcoming that will determine whether they qualify for the postseason or not, but things got a bit crazy during Thursday’s practice.
Brian Kerhin with FOX 11 News in Green Bay reported on Thursday that an ambulance had to be called to their practice at the Don Hutson Center due to an injury suffered to a practice squad player.
The injury in question was described as a leg/hip issue that required the unknown player to be taken by ambulance,
Things looked very bad for the Packers when they sat at 4-8 and appeared the team would be headed for Cancun for the season. Instead, the team decided to activate their on switch and reel off several wins that has them on the cusp of possibly going to the postseason. Green Bay is now one game away from a playoff berth in the NFC.
The use of an ambulance comes just days after the country watched Damar Hamlin collapse on the field Monday night when the Bills were facing the Bengals. By Thursday, he was showing “remarkable improvement” in the last 24 hours. He woke up on Wednesday night and is responsive, despite still being in critical condition.
Hamlin’s health is the league’s primary concern, but are also hopeful that the Packers practice player will also be okay.
