Amazon prime is praying that the numbers they have gotten for their debut broadcast of Thursday Night Football was because it was just the final preseason game that nobody cared to watch.
John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that last Thursday’s 49ers-Texans game on Amazon Prime generated an average audience of 1.03 million.
Amazon’s edition of Thursday Night Football officially starts September 15 with an AFC West clash between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
This season will mark the first time the NFL will have a streaming partner to exclusively show live NFL games throughout the season.

This brings a lot of change. Namely, people who haven’t yet embraced streaming may need to start if they want to see their favorite team play on Thursday night.
There will be growing pains, but fans will eventually get used to it.
