If you’re a New Orleans Saints fan, then Christian McCaffrey’s new mega deal that made him the highest paid running back in NFL history should make you nervous.
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was streaming on Twitch when the news came down of McCaffrey’s record-setting four-year, $64 million contract extension.
“I just play football. I’m just a football player,” Kamara joked when asked what that deal might mean for him going forward. “I don’t know nothing about contracts or all these things, all this money. … Shout out to Christian, man. That’s my boy. Talented for sure.”
The 24-year-old is heading into the final year of his rookie contract at the bargain rate of $2.133 million. Kamara is special enough to keep raising the RB contract bar, which was set by Ezekiel Elliott last year, but then eclipsed by McCaffrey.
