Alvin Kamara is thought to be one of the players who could perhaps switch teams this season following the New Orleans Saints’ lukewarm start.
The Saints, who acquired Derek Carr during the offseason, are 3-4 after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night. And Kamara cut a frustrated figure in the wake of the defeat.
“We’re finding it hard to start fast, maintain, execute, and finding it hard to finish,” he told reporters after the game. “That’s the glaring and reoccurring theme.”
The running back put in a very decent performance in Week 7 but hasn’t been as consistent as fans have become used to since returning to play in Week 4 after serving a three-game suspension.
USA Today recently named Kamara among five players who could use a change of environment in 2023. However, it’s unlikely that the Saints move him ahead of the fast-approaching trade deadline.
According to the NFL Analysis Network, the Saints remain a playoff contender in spite of their slow start, given that they’re in a weak NFC South. While Kamara has left a lot to be desired, he is still one of the most important players in the New Orleans offense.

The publication also points out that the 28-year-old is a five-time Pro Bowler who is still very valuable and can have a breakout game at any time.
