Urban Meyer has been a bad husband.
Over the weekend, the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach found himself trending on all platforms after video showed him at a bar getting real close and comfortable with a woman who was not his wife.
On Monday, he addressed the situation with reporters, stating, “I just apologized to the team and the staff for being a distraction. It was stupid,” Meyer said during a morning news conference. “I explained everything that happened and owned it, and, you know, just stupid, should not have had myself in that kind of position.”
Meyer said following the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday night loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, he stayed behind to see his grandchildren and went to dinner with friends at a restaurant.
“There’s a big group next to our restaurant and they wanted me to come over and take pictures and I did. They were trying to pull me out on the dance floor, screwing around, and I should have left,” Meyer said.
He did not go on the dance floor, but one lady was clearly had his attention that night. In the video, Meyer is seen seated by a bar and appears to face toward the center of the room while a woman dances with her back toward him.

An alternate view shows he had his hands between her legs from behind.
Meyer said he also apologized to his family.
“Of course I did. That’s not me. Oh yeah, they were upset,” Meyer said.
The Jaguars fell to 0-4 after the loss and are one of only two winless teams in the NFL. The rebuilding franchise sucked badly last year to be able to select franchise QB Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
They have lost all but one game by double digits.
