A cause of death has been disclosed in the sad and unfortunate case of former Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins, who passed away at the age of 28 on Sunday night, with both teams confirming as much on Monday.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the former NFL player died in a motorcycle crash in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida which remains under investigation. Per officials, Alex’s motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of an SUV that had crossed the eastbound lanes and was turning left.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Collins was a Seahawks fifth-round draft pick in 2016 after rushing for 1,577 yards and 20 touchdowns in his final season with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
He ended up with the Ravens the following year after being waived, playing two seasons in Baltimore.
The RB returned to the Seahawks briefly in 2020 and 2021 to end his NFL career and, most recently, was on the Memphis Showboats roster in the USFL.
