Al Michaels has been around for a long time, so he is well aware of how many teams have won a Super Bowl and how many they have in their possession.
The longtime NFL broadcaster was in the midst of talking about the history of the 49ers as they were taking on the Giants on Thursday Night Football when he stated they had won four Super Bowls.
That was incorrect information as the franchise has won five.
“So you think about the 49ers, this is a franchise that has won four Super Bowls. Bill Walsh won two, George Seifert won two,” Michaels said. “But not since 1994.”
Michaels received some backlash for his mistake.

To his credit, he did later correct himself and give the 49ers their fifth Super Bowl.
