DaRon Bland made NFL history on Thursday night, having intercepted a pass for a pick-six against the Washington Commanders during their Thanksgiving affair.
Prior to this evening’s game, many wondered whether the cornerback would set himself apart with such a play given Sam Howell’s propensity for throwing INTs this season. And he did just that, intercepting a pass from the Washington QB to run it in for a score late in Dallas’ 45-10 win.
This marked Bland’s second pick-six in his last two games, as he ran one in from 30 yards against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday to tie Eric Allen’s record of most pick-sixes made in a single season (1993). He moved ahead of Allen on Thursday night with an interception that rocked the AT&T Stadium and sent Jim Nantz into a frenzy.
Nantz’s description was nothing short of electric. And fans couldn’t help but point out how dry it would have been had Al Michaels been on the call.

The way fans see it, Michaels would have likely done Bland’s name justice, just not his historic play.
