Al Michaels didn’t even pretend to be excited for the Washington Commanders-Chicago Bears “Thursday Night Football” contest next week.
Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit were again on the call for Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football” contest between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. During the broadcast, Michaels briefly had to advertise the Commanders-Bears contest for Week 5.
And as mentioned above, Michaels didn’t bother to show the tiniest bit of enthusiasm in previewing the contest:
The Commanders are off to a surprising 2-1 start on the young season, though they were dealt a rude awakening with an ugly 37-3 loss against a top team in the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. They now have the difficult task of trying to upset the Philadelphia Eagles on the road this week.
As for the Bears, they simply look like football’s worst team through three weeks. They were blown out 38-20 at home by the rival Green Bay Packers in Week 1, then fell 27-17 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a mistake-filled game a week later.
Then in Week 3, they were humiliated 41-10 on the road by the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
