Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons felt sick to his stomach watching the rival Philadelphia Eagles make one of the biggest steals of the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night.
Unfortunately for him, Eagles receiver A.J. Brown was right there to pour salt on the wound the entire time while his emotions were bouncing off the wall. Parsons was in the studio for Bleacher Report’s draft coverage. When the Eagles drafted Georgia defender Nolan Smith with the 30th overall pick, Brown joined via video call.
“I mean, I love Nolan,” Parsons said. “I recruited Nolan to Penn State. I was his host. Nolan’s my guy. His ceiling is high.
“A five-man front with Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Haason (Reddick), Fletcher Cox…”
Brown soon jumped in and stated how much he was loving Parsons’ disappointed tone.
“I’m loving every bit of this,” Brown said with a smile on his face. “He needs some tissue. The show is over. He’s ready to go home and cry.”
Brown used the opportunity to do some recruiting.

“Micah, I know you — just be a Philadelphia Eagle at this point. I know you want to be a part of this great organization. We got Fletcher Cox, Haason Reddick, Jordan Davis … the defense is crazy right now. Just come on over.”
Parsons is a Pennsylvania guy and played collegiality at Penn State, making the Eagles an understandably interesting fit for him.
Parsons simply shook his head at Brown’s remarks before changing the subject.
Parsons has made it clear that his love for the Cowboys runs deep. His love for the state of Pennsylvania does as well.
Him being on the Eagles likely wouldn’t happen for many years down the road. At that point, the Eagles just may have a Super Bowl win or two under their belt.
Not for nothing, the Dallas Cowboys have made a number of moves this offseason and during the draft that has people thinking they may be able to put everything together for the first time since the 90s.
The team has been eliminated from the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers for two years in a row.
