Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown believes the NFL should make a radical change to a major part of its schedule.
AJ Brown was doing an endorsement spot with Draftkings where he mentioned he thinks the NFL should eliminate Monday Night Football. He was serious.
With the Eagles coming off a 20–17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks this past Monday, Brown is calling for the elimination of Monday night games in their entirety, and he proceeded to give his reasons why.
“Because it’s a short week and then right after the game you only have a certain amount of time just for your body to recover, and it speeds up the process, and that adds … wear and tear with practice,” Brown told DraftKings on Thursday. “So it gets difficult. The Monday night games, I think, they shoulda took [them] out. I know it’s cool, everybody watching you on Monday night, but the turnaround after that, it’s difficult, especially if you leave the game a little banged up.”
I think it’ safe to say that everybody did not agree with what he had to say and he got blasted on social media.

In the meantime, Brown and the Eagles will play the New York Giants on Christmas Day. This will mark the team’s second consecutive Monday night game after the team fell to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15.
Not only is he playing on Monday again, but also has to do so on Christmas.
The short weeks have been tough for players to get healthy and this late in the season, every team would probably like to have a little extra rest as many of them will be headed to the playoffs where the punishment is going to be a lot more harsher as teams fight for a Super Bowl.
Despite how he feels, Monday night, or Thursday night games for that matter, are not going anywhere.
The NFL even added a Black Friday game for the first time this year.
