At one point, the AFC South had DeAndre Hopkins and AJ Brown scaring the crap out of defenses for years. Today, neither of those players are on their respective teams after being traded. The Texans traded Hopkins to Arizona, and last night during the draft, the Titans shipped Brown to the Eagles.
The Titans received the No. 18 pick in the 2022 NFL draft, which they used to select Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks, and a third-round pick, the Eagles announced.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Eagles are signing Brown to a four-year contract extension worth $100 million with $57 million guaranteed.
Soon after the announcement, Brown posted an interesting message on Twitter for his fans.
“Tennessee I love you and you will forever be in my heart and I can say this now… THIS WAS NOT MY FAULT,” Brown tweeted. “But I wish you all the best. Love.”
That tweet from Brown was then deleted.

Brown claims the Titans lowballed him with their contract offer.
“This wasn’t my fault,” Brown told ESPN. “I wanted to stay, but the deal they offered was a low offer. The deal they offered wasn’t even $20 million a year.”
The Titans reportedly offered him $16 million per season. It could’ve reached $20 million per year with incentives. He felt that wasn”t enough so they parted ways.
Brown has emerged as one of the better wideouts in football, catching 63 passes for 869 yards and five touchdowns in 2021.
