An interesting AFC team has been floated as a possible landing spot for former Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets All-Pro safety Jamal Adams.
Earlier this offseason, the Seahawks released Jamal Adams in a cap-saving move that cleared $6.1 million. They also released fellow veteran stalwart safety Quandre Diggs, clearing $11 million in cap space.
Surprisingly, Adams and Diggs remain free agents as offseason training camp approaches. But given their career bodies of work, it’s only a matter of time until the two veteran defensive backs land contracts.
Bleacher Report‘s Nate LaJoie suggested the 2023 AFC runner-up Baltimore Ravens as the ideal landing spot for the 28-year-old Jamal Adams, stating that he was “born to wear” a Baltimore uniform.
The Ravens have by far football’s best safety duo in Marcus Williams and do-it-all superstar Kyle Hamilton. But they have a long history of successful reclamation projects, and Adams could be useful for John Harbaugh and company.

Adams has also played the hybrid linebacker role, and the Ravens could certainly use some depth there. The Ravens love moving their defensive backs all over the field (Hamilton especially), so Adams definitely fits the scheme there.
The Ravens will open their 2024 season with a road contest against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 5 at Arrowhead Stadium.
Injuries Derailed Jamal Adams’ Tenure With Seahawks
Adams’ first season with the Seahawks couldn’t have gone much better. He recorded 9.5 sacks (a single-season record for a defensive back), three pass breakups and one forced fumble.
Unfortunately, the injury bug consistently struck Adams and prevented him from retaining that All-Pro form. He missed five games in 2021, all but one contest in 2022 and eight outings last year.
For his career, the 2017 first-round pick has four interceptions, 36 pass breakups, seven forced fumbles, 21.5 sacks and 494 combined tackles.
