A blockbuster trade proposal has the Los Angeles Chargers dealing superstar defensive end Joey Bosa to an AFC contender in a move that would shake up the race for Super Bowl 59.
Heading into the offseason, many believed the Chargers would either cut or trade Joey Bosa to save cap space. But they wound up restructuring the deals of Bosa and fellow Pro Bowl edge rusher Khalil Mack, keeping the dynamic defensive duo intact for year one of the Jim Harbaugh era.
Of course, new Chargers GM Joe Hortiz is just one can’t-refuse offer away from trading Bosa, who’s under contract for two more years. And there’s a strong case to be made that the retooling Bolts would be better off trading the oft-injured and expensive Bosa now while his value is at its highest.
Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has the Chargers dealing Bosa to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft pick:
“While the team still has Super Bowl aspirations with quarterback Josh Allen running the offense, the defense could use a bit more firepower—especially on the edge—to keep pace in what should be a fierce race for the AFC East crown.
The return of Von Miller will give the team a much-needed boost in the pass-rushing department, but acquiring another proven Pro Bowl edge defender could push this unit over the top. Joey Bosa would be an ideal target for a team in win-now mode and may benefit from a change of scenery following two injury-plagued campaigns with the Los Angeles Chargers.”

Leonard Floyd was the only Bills player to record double-digit sacks last season (10.5), and he left for the San Francisco 49ers in free agency. So another game-changing pass-rusher is required if Buffalo is to get over the AFC hump, and Joey Bosa would unquestionably fill the void.
Bosa has only played 14 games over the past two years because of injuries, but he’s among football’s elite defensive players when healthy. The 29-year-old has 67 career sacks and 15 forced fumbles in 93 games.
Joey Bosa Could Be The Final Piece For Buffalo Bills
The Bills’ lack of a consistent pass rush was on display in their three playoff losses to the Kansas City Chiefs (2020, 2021 and 2023) and Cincinnati Bengals (2022 Divisional Round). A player like Joey Bosa, however, might be the final piece needed to get this team over the top in a crowded AFC.
So if the Chargers are willing to take offers on Bosa, the Bills should aggressively pursue a trade of his services.
