A Super Bowl contender in the AFC is reportedly a team to monitor in the Odell Beckham Jr. free agency sweepstakes.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the New York Jets are a club to “keep an eye on” regarding the free agent wide receiver. Beckham spent the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens and seems poised to land elsewhere next year:
“As for free agents, it’s a middling group that includes a fading star (Odell Beckham Jr.), a star coming off ACL surgery (Mike Williams), a steady WR3 (Tyler Boyd) and another Rodgers crony (Marquez Valdes-Scantling). Williams is reportedly visiting this week. Also keep an eye on Beckham, whom they almost signed last year.”
The Jets have been active in free agency, with longtime Dallas Cowboys superstar offensive tackle Tyron Smith and veteran journeyman quarterback Tyrod Taylor headlining the list of signings by GM Joe Douglas.
New York also brought back old friend Morgan Moses in a trade with the Ravens, giving the Jets two new starting offensive tackles for 2024. With that taken care of, Douglas’ next goal is to find a capable No. 2 receiver to complement young star Garrett Wilson.
And there aren’t many better options for the Jets right now than OBJ, who should be keen on the opportunity to play alongside four-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers. Beckham put up superstar numbers with the New York Giants and won a Super Bowl 56 ring with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, but he hasn’t played with a QB in Rodgers’ tier before.

After missing the entire 2022 season, Beckham signed a one-year deal with Baltimore and posted 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
Odell Beckham Jr. & The Jets Are A Perfect Match
Though he already owns a Super Bowl ring, Odell Beckham Jr. will likely be motivated to play for a contender again in 2024. At this phase of his career, OBJ isn’t going to get a lucrative long-term contract.
The Jets are strictly in win-now mode with the aforementioned Aaron Rodgers entering his age-40/41 season. So it makes perfect sense to bring in Beckham on a cheap one or two-year deal and see if he can bolster the receiving room around Wilson.
