Adam Schefter left his ESPN colleagues in shock when he broke the news of Aaron Rodgers joining the New York Jets via trade on Monday afternoon.
The wait is finally over, with the Jets agreeing to a deal with the Green Bay Packers that will see them land the veteran quarterback after weeks of deliberation. The Jets did have to give up a first-round pick as had been reported. However, they get one in return and will only move down two spots in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. Not so bad, right?
Schefter, who was ordered to lose Rodgers’ number by Rodgers himself, was on NFL Live discussing Trey Lance when he got the scoop on the blockbuster deal. Marcus Spears, Mina Kimes, Laura Rutledge, and Dan Orlovsky were all on with the NFL insider at the time and their reactions spoke for just about everyone.

Of course, this is not a first for Schefter, who frequently checks his phone on the air. But this one is definitely the biggest television moment of his career. Ironically, it was all about a player who doesn’t seem to like him very much.

So Rodgers will be playing in a new uniform for the first time since getting drafted by the Packers in 2005. The veteran QB is a four-time who led the Packers to Super Bowl victory in 2011.
The Jets will hope he can do the same for them.
