Adam Schefter reckons there will be coaching changes coming from close to a third of the teams in the NFL in the next offseason.
Two coaches have been fired this month, with the Las Vegas Raiders handing Josh McDaniel his marching orders on November 1 and Frank Reich being let go by the Carolina Panthers this Monday.
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is also believed to be on the hot seat as his team is now 2-9.
Schefter was speaking on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ this Monday when he predicted that there will be plenty more firings over the final month of the season.
“Last year, I think there were five head coaching changes,” the ESPN insider said. “And if we go back to the turn of the century, it averages 6.8 per year and in two years you almost always get about 13 or 14.
“You’re gonna have this year anywhere, I believe, between seven to 10 coaching changes. … Hunting season begins right after Thanksgiving and sure enough after Thanksgiving Frank Reich is out. Last year: five changes. This year: seven to 10 and I’ll take the over.”
