Adam “Pacman” Jones is the true definition of what a friend is.
The former NFL cornerback is raising late ex-teammate Chris Henry’s kids. Once the “NFL poster boy for bad behavior,” hasn’t turned just his own life around but he has also made a difference for a fallen teammate’s family.
A recently released piece from The Athletic by Zak Keefer detailed how the 39-year-old has been raising the two sons of Chris Henry as his own for a couple of years. Jones and Henry became close friends while playing together at West Virginia, but they would all change when Henry died in 2009, which was during his fifth season in the league. Chris Henry died at the age of 26, after he fell off the back of a moving pickup truck during a domestic dispute, according to police.
Since then, Pacman has stepped up in a huge way.
Chris Jr. is a straight-A student who will graduate high school sometime in 2026. Despite his age, he is already receiving offers to play college ball at some of the nation’s top programs- Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, and USC, as well as West Virginia.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a kid track the deep ball like him,” Jones told Keefer. “He’s more skilled than me and his dad were at his age.”

In 2021, in an interview with Shannon Sharpe, Jones revealed that he had adopted both of Henry’s sons, and described them as “freaks when it comes to sports.”
“We love each other hard,” Jones said. “We cry together, we pray together, we do everything together. We all family.”
Chris’s younger brother DeMarcus is a budding basketball talent who will start high school in the fall.
Jones is well aware of the irony of him being a troublemaker and once getting suspended for 22 out of a possible 28 games.
“I’ll be damned if these kids make the same mistakes I did,” he says.
The sixth overall pick in the 2005 draft had been arrested multiple times since turning pro. His rap sheet consists of felony vandalism and obstruction of justice to probation violations and assault.
He has since turned his life completely around and doing wonderful things for his best friend.
