Aaron Rodgers has been preparing for his first season as the New York Jets starting quarterback following his trade from the Green Bay Packers earlier this year.
The Jets aim to go all the way, having acquired the veteran signal-caller with the sole aim of winning a Super Bowl next February. And he’s already being put through his paces as the team has had to start their training camp a week earlier due to ‘Hard Knocks’ obligations.
The team hosted its first offseason open practice this Saturday and it was a pretty eventful affair. It’s reported that multiple fights broke out early on, with players not holding back despite the absence of pads.
Rodgers was also filmed underthrowing a pass to wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. at one point. The new Jets wideout got the necessary separation from his covering defender but Rodgers could not get the required range to complete the pass.

Fans on Twitter wasted little time calling Rodgers “washed.”
The QB was also filmed getting owned by Sauce Gardner, who impressively broke up a pass to Garrett Wilson. Got that here for you too…
Of course, it would be harsh to judge someone of Rodgers’ caliber in July. Plus it’s not like he had a bad day; there were plenty of other good throws coming from the four-time MVP. He just bombed on that one.
