Aaron Rodgers window to get to another Super Bowl has been closed, at least according to a former NFL player.
The Green Bay Packers are stuck in a rut that only got worse when the team failed to trade for a WR at the deadline. They now find themselves with a 3-5 record after their loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Rodgers complained during the summer about the level that his receivers were at during the preseason, and then ramped things up by adding more complaints about both of them during the season. He even suggested some guys get reps taken away for making too many mistakes.
ESPN analyst Bart Scott believes Rodgers’ Super Bowl window in Green Bay has closed. The former Jets player added that the team not making a move at the deadline spoke volumes about where they think they are as a franchise.
“I think it closed as soon as San Francisco decided to bring Jimmy G back,” Scott said. “Aaron Rodgers always says he owns the Bears — Jimmy G owns him. That’s a bigger story, right? Everyone else in the NFC has gotten better, and we thought this defense [for the Packers] was going to be elite and be able to win a different way, running the football and tremendous defense.”
The Packers are 3-5 heading into Week 9 and are three games back of first place in the NFC North.

Barring some dramatic turnaround in form, the team is on course to miss the postseason, at which point you’d really have to question what the Packers as an organization is going to look like moving forward, especially as Rodgers will be 39 next year.
