Aaron Rodgers spent 18 years in Green Bay, 15 as the Packers’ starting quarterback. He did a lot of great things before he got traded to the New York Jets this past offseason.
Rodgers was supposed to do great things in 2023 with the Jets but just four snaps into his regular season debut for the Jets against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, Rodgers picked up a serious injury which brought an abrupt end to his playing time in 2023.
Aaron Rodgers’s 21-day practice window to return to the field is nearing an end and he is showing how far he has come on Thursday from taking snaps from under center, running bootlegs, and jogging in between plays.
On Friday, he kicked it up a notch when he took scout team reps and jumped to grab a one-handed interception.
“In the moment, you’re like, ‘Oh, he jumped up and caught it,'” said offensive tackle Duane Brown told reporters. “But now it’s like, ‘What the f— are you doing?'”
“It’s definitely impressive seeing him out there and the progress he’s made in such a short time,” said wide receiver Garrett Wilson. “He’s special. The mindset, the way he goes about his treatment. All of a sudden, you find yourself back, ready to play here pretty soon. It’s crazy.”
Rodgers tore his Achilles during the Jets’ first drive of the season, and was attempting to do what many considered impossible and return this season, as the Jets try to push for a postseason run.
