Earlier today, Aaron Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee show for the second time in less than a week. His first appearance caused quite the stir, so it seemed as though the agenda of today’s visit was damage control.
One of the things that the public seemed to be angered by the most was Rodgers’ comments back in the offseason, when he told reporters that he was “immunized” when they asked if he had received the vaccine. Many took those comments as a clear indication that the Packers quarterback was fully vaccinated at the time. However, it was only discovered last week that Rodgers was in fact, unvaccinated, which resulted in an automatic 10 days on the IR.
Aaron balked at the opportunity to apologize for misleading many in the public during his last appearance on McAfee’s show. But earlier today, he took a step in the right direction by “acknowledging” that he “made some comments that people might have felt were misleading.” He then went on to say that he takes “full responsibility” for those comments.
It’s not quite an apology, but it’s better than nothing, I guess:
Rodgers also acknowledged that he understands the topic is a very sensitive and controversial one. And he respects everyone’s view, even those that oppose his own. The reigning MVP was even on the wrong end of a funny wise crack from McAfee, which Rodgers appeared to take in stride.
