When it comes to politics, Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers choose to keep those things away from each other, so it doesn’t put a stain on the relationship.
The 30-year-old Divergent actress and her Green Bay Packers quarterback fiancé oftentimes “agree to disagree” on subjects where they don’t see eye to eye, a source told PEOPLE.
“They are not talking about their politics, and they never really have,” says the source. “They disagreed on a lot of things. Early on, they decided to agree to disagree about things and not debate them.”
“She is not someone whose mind you can change, so Aaron hasn’t even tried,” the source adds.
The pair began dating in 2020 during the pandemic, which was shortly after his relationship with Danica Patrick ended. First, there were just rumors about them dating, then it was confirmed when Rodgers stated that they were actually engaged. Later that February, Woodley confirmed their engagement, telling late-night host Jimmy Fallon: “Yes, we are engaged. But for us, it’s not new news, you know, so it’s kind of funny. Everyone right now is freaking out over it and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.’ “

Since Rodgers doesn’t talk much politics with the woman in his life, he has no filter when bringing it out in the open with the rest of the world. The Packers QB never misses a chance to speak his mind when it comes to all things political, especially about COVID and the vaccine.
Depending on his decision, Rodgers and Woodley might be continuing their relationship in another spot after the Packers were eliminated by the 49ers in the playoffs.
