Coming into Sunday night’s win-or-go-home game for the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions, Aaron Rodgers had dropped some hints that this could be his final hurray with the Cheeseheads.
Following his team’s crushing 20-16 loss to close out the 2022 season, it appears as though the Packers quarterback has dropped another major hint that his time with the Packers could be coming to an end.
After the Lions put the finishing touches on their shocking victory at Lambeau Field, rookie wide receiver Jameson Williams approached the Green Bay signal caller and asked to swap jerseys.
Surprisingly, he was turned down by Rodgers, who politely said, “I’m holding on to this one.”
Why wouldn’t Rodgers trade a jersey from a game he just lost to eliminate his team from the postseason for the first time since the 2018 season?
The obvious answer seems to be that Rodgers believes this could be his final season in Green Bay. Whether that’s because A-Rod is contemplating retirement, or looking for a change of scenery remains to be seen. But you can fully expect the speculation to being as we approach what should be a very interesting offseason in Wisconsin.
