Aaron Rodgers will play his first game for the New York Jets in what should be an entertaining clash against the Buffalo Bills. Adding to the intrigue is the fact that the game is set for September 11.
The NFL will release its full schedule for next season on Thursday night, however, some games have already been announced while some others have been leaked.
ESPN has revealed that the first Monday Night Football matchup will be played by the aforementioned outfits on said date. Given that both teams are expected to compete for glory this season, it’s a great way to start them off.
That the contest is scheduled for the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the fact did not escape fans, who have been pointing out the irony. Rodgers is known to pay great attention to conspiracy theories and isn’t thought to believe the events of that tragic day went the way they were reported to have gone down.
Late last year, former Green Bay Packers quarterback Deshone Kizer recalled a conversation he had about it with the new QB. The clip, which is from an interview on The Brenemen Show, started doing the rounds again when Rodgers told the world he wanted to play in New York.
