Aaron Rodgers has revealed he had interest from other teams but ultimately decided he wanted to play for the New York Jets.
Rodgers, who finally let us in on his thinking this Wednesday, also hinted he was considering a reunion with a former teammate while mulling over his future.
While nothing is official yet, the quarterback will likely play for the Jets next season, having revealed he wants to make the move while speaking on The Pat McAfee Show. But it appears there’s a possibility he could have gone to the Las Vegas Raiders, who were also in the market for a QB before they signed former San Francisco 49ers signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo.
Asked if there was interest from other teams this offseason, Rodgers said there was, also noting it would have been nice to link up with a specific former teammate. McAfee immediately mentioned Davante Adams but Rodgers refused to confirm or deny.
“I’m not mentioning names, but there’s definitely one particular guy who — him and I have this special kind of unspoken rapport,” the QB said.

Rodgers and Adams were quite the deadly duo for the Packers and combined for a team-record 69 touchdowns. The wide receiver was traded to the Raiders for first and second-round picks last year but hinted he was keen on a reunion with Rodgers once Vegas shut Derek Carr down.
The Raiders have since replaced Carr with Garoppolo but could possibly draft another QB as they have the No. 7 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
